This policy explains what information Thoroughbred Intelligence collects through this website, how it is used, and the choices you have. It covers tbintel.com only.

What we collect

If you use the Request an introduction form on our homepage, we receive the details you enter: your name, your email address, the name of the person who referred you if you provide one, and your message. The form also contains a hidden field used to filter automated spam.

When you load any page, our hosting provider processes the technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page requested. We don't use that information to identify or profile visitors.

If you are a client and sign in, the email address and password you enter are checked against your account and are not stored or logged.

Nothing else is collected. There are no analytics tools, advertising trackers, or social media pixels on this site.

How we use it

We use introduction requests to reply to you and to consider a possible engagement. We don't sell personal information, share it for advertising, or add anyone to a mailing list.

Who processes it

Four services are involved in running the site. Web3Forms receives form submissions and forwards them to us by email, Netlify hosts the website, and Vimeo and YouTube host the videos embedded in some Insights posts. All four are based in the United States, so information you submit or send while using the site is processed there. Our newsletter runs on Substack. The subscribe form on the Insights pages sends your email address straight to Substack, where the subscription is handled under Substack's own privacy policy. We don't store the address on this site or see anything about your subscription beyond the subscriber list Substack shows us. Our replies to introduction requests are sent through our email provider.

Cookies

This site uses no tracking technologies. The only cookie it sets is for clients who sign in: it keeps you signed in for up to seven days, contains nothing but your sign-in, and is removed when you sign out. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than a third-party service. Some Insights posts embed videos from Vimeo and YouTube. The Vimeo players run in Vimeo's do-not-track mode, which stops Vimeo from setting analytics or tracking cookies, though Vimeo still sets a small number of cookies it considers essential to the player's security. The YouTube players run in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which means YouTube sets no cookie unless you press play, and does not use your viewing to personalise recommendations or advertising. In both cases, when a player loads, your IP address and browser details go to that company, and pressing play may store data in your browser. Because nothing on the site tracks visitors across other websites, a browser's Do Not Track signal has nothing to switch off, and the site behaves the same whether or not the signal is sent.

How long we keep it

We keep introduction requests and the related correspondence for as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of the conversation. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

Your choices and rights

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it through the contact form on our homepage. Mention privacy in your message. We respond to requests within one month.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, data protection law also gives you the right to object to our processing or ask us to restrict it, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We process introduction requests on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and to take the steps you have asked for ahead of a possible engagement.

Children

This site is intended for adults working in the Thoroughbred industry and is not directed at children.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
