Henry Nothhaft, Jr.

Henry Nothhaft, Jr. is the founder of Thoroughbred Intelligence, a decision intelligence firm serving the Thoroughbred industry with bespoke research and analysis across bloodstock, racing, breeding, auction valuation, and ownership strategy. Since 2024 the firm has advised clients and supported transactions in the United States, Australia and Europe.

He is also co-founder and operating partner of Insight Thoroughbred, which manages fully capitalized, closed-loop breeding funds. He leads the analytical side of the business, candidate selection, underwriting, bidding strategy, and cover selection, and runs all business and financial operations. The first fund acquired five mares in foal in 2025. The second fund launches in the fall of 2026.

Before Kentucky, he spent more than two decades building software products and companies. He led the flagship product suite at WebEx through its acquisition by Cisco, then founded Trapit, an AI company launched out of the Artificial Intelligence Center at SRI International, building an enterprise customer base inclusive of Deloitte, IBM, and Microsoft before running the sale process that led to its acquisition in 2017.

He relocated to Versailles in 2024 to take a more active role in the Thoroughbred business, acquiring his first mare in foal that year. He sold the resulting foal as one of the highest-priced weanlings at the 2025 Fasig-Tipton November sale, a process during which he built the first version of the Thoroughbred Intelligence platform.

In addition to Thoroughbred Intelligence, Henry is a partner in Catalyst Industries, an operator-led agency with a combined fifty years building companies, launching brands, and shipping products. Catalyst handles brand and digital strategy, market and competitive research, and AI advisory for small and mid-sized businesses, nonprofits, and founder-led firms.
